In addition to his success as a recovery educator, Michael has considerable executive management experience. He was the youngest director of educational television in the state of Massachusetts. His five-year stint as the Executive Director of Educational Television, and board member of the Massachusetts State Board of Education was very notable. Under his guidance, the organization was the flagship educational television production organization in the country producing dozens of television programs for schools and colleges across the country.

Michael was also the Vice President of the Products Group at Children’s Television Workshop, the home of Sesame Street. With two other executives, Michael started and managed The Products Group, the for-profit subsidiary of CTW. During his three years the Products Group was responsible for creating and licensing The Muppet characters, and the wide range of Sesame Street products: books, games, toys, magazines, and the Muppet characters.

Michael also managed a very successful television station. For twelve years he was the Director of Programming, Production, and Public Affairs for the Maine Public Broadcasting System, part of the PBS family of television stations. During his time there the station was ranked by the Nielsen’s as one of the most watched, per-capita, stations in the country and was applauded by peers and critics for its innovative programming and production. Michael also served as a board member of the prestigious International Public Television Conference, which developed and held media conferences around the world.

As an independent media producer, Michael has produced numerous television, video, and multi-media programs. His video program, Fight for Your Life, a program for those suffering from cancer, was one of the most purchased health videos on the market. It received the highest praise from hundreds of cancer victims and their families as well as glowing reviews from Dr. Norman Vincent Peale, Dr. Bernie Siegel, Dr. Christiane Northrup, and many others.
